Interview and words by Frank Pantano

...you may be asking yourself, who is Adam Joseph Arunski?

And that my friends, is perfectly okay. Life under a rock cannot possibly be as bad as it's made out to be (joke!). See, you might not know Adam- yet. You might not skateboard and even if you did, you still might not know him. Adam lets his skateboard do the talking, and yeah, Adam is a shy guy. Right? Well, no. As a long time friend of Adam, I have come to learn this isn't true. Not only is Adam not shy, but very outgoing and wildly spontaneous, certainly these qualities don't make up a shy person. Why haven't I seen this side of him yet? Well as you ask yourself this question, realize that Adam Arunski is one for the ages. He need not say how he feels or why he likes what he does, he simply just does. And feels. Watch him skate. Really watch him skate. I have for years and I'm glad to see he has come this far.

Frank Pantano: Introduce yourself: Name, age, who are you?

Adam Arunski: My name is Adam Joseph Arunski, I'm twenty years old, what was the other one?

FP: Who are you?

AA: I just said that.

FP: What's the secret?

AA: I don't know what you're talking about...What's the secret? It's that Vienna Beef that Al uses...It tastes so good.

Laughter.

FP: How long have we known each other?

AA: I'd say about six years? Seven? Seven years.

FP: In one word describe me.

AA: Indescribable

FP: In one word describe you.

AA: Confused?

Laughter.

Adam then attempted to describe Jordan Hallett in one word and used two.

FP: Why skateboarding?

AA: Because it is the only thing that has really ever been there for me.

FP: How do you feel about the direction skateboarding is moving in?

AA: It's good and bad. There are some things I don't like, but I'm still psyched on it.

Jordan Hallett: Why are you psyched on it?

AA: It's just fun. The same reason I started skateboarding. Actually, I don't really know why I started skateboarding, but it's that same reason why I still skate.

JH: [Skateboarding] keeps you youthful?

AA: Yeah.

I filmed a few tricks with Adam at A.J.

Adam's section from 'Street Trash'(2008).

FP: Number one thing wrong with the world today?

AA: I try not to think too much about that. Maybe politics, but I don't know anything about it.

FP: Why no Myspace or Facebook?

AA: Wasn't interested.

FP: Dream job?

AA: I guess skateboarding.

FP: Dream place to live?

AA: Just somewhere with good people, friends and skateboarding. Anywhere that is.

FP: Most enjoyable movie to watch?

AA: Not skate video right? Movie?

FP: Movie.

AA: Walk Hard. Hands down, probably one of my favorite movies.

Laughs.

A few days later, Adam said he had a different favorite movie that I cannot remember.

FP: Favorite "Pantano Production"?

AA: Well, Fuck Yeah was probably my favorite time...but actual video? I really like that one... there is so many. I'm going to say Tinfoil Windows.

FP: Favorite Beatle?

AA: Pete Best.

Laughter.

FP: Pick one color:

AA: Purple.

FP: Where do you see yourself in ten years?

AA: Probably still thinking about this question.

Laughter.

FP: Parting words?

AA: I'd like to thank my folks. Freedom Boardshop, Foundation Skateboards ... No wait, Freedom Boardshop, Tum-Yeto distribution, the cool people. Just put cool people.

I'd like to say thank you to Adam for letting me interview him. Keep your eyes peeled. Stay tuned.
